  • Approximately three-quarter of our clients are funded by federal, state and county monies; United Way; individual donations; grants; and special fundraising projects.  Government funding does not reimburse us for the full cost of the meals.  In addition, government budget fluctuations and the uncertainty of grants increase our need for private donations. The remaining quarter of our clients are “private pay,” they pay anywhere from fifty cents to the full price of the meals, depending on their ability to pay.

Your donation will help cover the cost of daily meals for those in need. You can contribute at any time by credit card, check, or PayPal. Donations to Monroe County Meals on Wheels are tax deductible.

    What is a DAF?

A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably-inclined individual, families and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock and in some case, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
